Kanye West Goes Crazy

On September 2, 2005, "A Live Concert for Hurricane Relief" was aired on many television Stations including NBC. The Concert urged people to donate their money the the American Red Cross. Many Performers shared information about the Relief effort and Performed on stage. Performers like Tim McGraw and Faith Hill provided hope and inspiration for the Thousands of people effected. The Show took a turn for the Worst when Rapper Kanye West strayed from the script. He stated "George Bush doesn't care about black people" and America is set up to help "the poor, the black people, the less well-off as low as possible." This was not the first time He has made such comments. He had another outburst at the AMA's after he did not recieve an award. This was not the place or time to be making such comments. Instead of incouraging people and giving hope to the thousands of people effected, he responded in a negitive way. Sayig that "America is set up...to help as slow as possible" is no way to encourage Americans to donate their money to this cause. I found these comments extreamly rude and ignorant. I think not only do telivision stations have the right to censor him but that they should censor him in any future airings of shows. His comments are not only counter-productive but his views in no way represent the other performers or the Station. I think the Governer of Lousiana and the Mayor of New Orleans dropped the ball on this. It is their responsibility to gather responders and supplies, especially when they were warned that the storm was coming.

It is great that the nation has pulled together to help the people of New Orleans. Unfortunately Kanye West has to rain on the parade. What other comments has he made like this? Where has he made them? He does a very goopd job getting the attention of the media by making such comments, even though the comments were out of place.

I couldnt agree more. Just because something automatically goes wrong, blame bush. Im not a republican but it's also the responsibility of those who are in charge of New orleans. obviously he wasnt thinking clearly. THe releif effort was suppose to encourage people to give money and like you siad his actions were completely counter-productive. I couldnt of said it better myself. If i saw that it wouldve really discouraged me from giving money if the people promoting the releif effort dont beleive then why would I. They were very ignorant and siad in the very wrong forum.
